In June 1945 a B-25 Mitchell bomber, like pictured below:
was on approach to an NYC airport in the fog when . . . all of a sudden the Empire State Building
jumped up and out of the ground and attacked the B-25 bomber. Of course the crew tried to avoid the building but in the fog of the AM it was hard to.
So the bomber flew into the Empire State Building. Creating this little problem:
The only people who were hurt was the plane crew who died in the crash.
How about that little bit of history.
